PIC Global Genetic Information System – PICTraq

The fundamental requirement for genetic improvement is information. PICTraq is the foundation for PIC’s genetic improvement. It is a purpose designed genetic database which started recording in 1983 and now has over 5.6 million animals included on it. Estimated breeding values (EBV) are updated daily on over one million pigs.

PICTraq links pigs from all over the world by their pedigrees.
We use a multi-disciplined approach to collecting Pedigree data, Performance data, DNA and Genotyping data with Bioinformatics to tie all the pieces together on a global scale. We refer to our program as High Definition Breeding™.
